The things we feel we need to talk about are all the injuries and Whitney's goal because it was a pretty good one. And maybe even Fleury's almost hand a goal to the opposite team again. Although in the end we found it entertaining to see him come out that far and then dart back in there. First Crosby goes down hard in the first period when his legs were taken out and goes to the locker room. Everyone stops breathing for a bit while he seems to favor his right leg, but then everyone feels better when it's an equipment manager he's leaving with and not a medical professional. Then towards the end of the first, Scuderi blocks a shot with his forehead and had to leave the game. There was plenty of blood on the ice as well and he never returned. Then in the third, it seemed like practically the whole team went down. Talbot gets injured somehow and we honestly don't know how. Letang goes down after a shot hits him in the knee area and he can't even get up. Luckily, he seemed to be fine and returned to the ice. Then the unthinkable happens and Crosby goes down again, similar to the way he was taken down before. This time he favors his left leg and gets help to the bench where he is doubled over in obvious pain. After a few minutes he goes to the locker room. Crosby said this on his injury:
Hopefully he's fine because if he were to be out for an extended period of time, we doubt the Pens will be as good as last year in his absence.
The Pens next game is against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday at 7:30 in Pittsburgh.
We couldn't resist this one. Mayor Luke Ravenstahl temporarily removed the 'ravens' from his name and changed it to Steelerstahl. This is a rather interesting thing to do. We have no comment.
