Pens get a new face, Pens vs. Rangers

The Penguins acquired a new face yesterday in goalie Mathieu Garon. The Pens sent Dany Sabourin, Ryan Stone, and a fourth round draft pick in the 2011 draft to the Edmonton Oilers for Garon.

We were a little surprised by this, but not much. Sabourin had been good at times, but wasn't the consistent backup the Pens needed. We don't know much about Garon but he appears to be a good upgrade for the Pens. More is included about him in the link above.

The Pens will host the Rangers today at 12:30 on NBC. The Pens will be in powder blue. Some good news is that the Pens could get Crosby, Scuderi, and Letang back as they are all game-time decisions. Dupuis, Orpik, and Talbot did not practice and will not play against the Rangers.

The Pens played a good game against the Ducks even with all the player losses they had. The Rangers are a familiar opponent and hopefully the Pens can put together a full (or as close to it as possible) sixty minutes of hockey and beat the Rangers for their first back-to-back wins in a long time.

We're also excited to see all the Terrible Towels in Mellon Arena today. We're definitely jealous of anyone who may be going to both. A few of the Pens taped some well wishes for the Steelers in today's game. We think Marc-Andre Fleury looks excellent in that hat.

LET'S GO PENS!
