Pens beat Islanders in shootout 4-3

Sorry for the late post today, we had a few minor setbacks last night and didn't get to get our post done. Right now we're watching the Steelers play Indy and they just got into the red zone with a pass to Santonio Holmes. HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

Last night the Pens played the Islanders in New York and it was a bizarre game at times to say the least. The ice appeared to be in horrible shape with people falling all over the place and pucks bouncing everywhere. But nothing was more bizarre than Dany Sabourin's final save in the shootout when the puck was stuck in his leg pads. (TD Mewelde Moore!) Looked like that could have been called a goal since Sabourin seemed to slide all the way back into the goal, but since the puck wasn't visible, there was no way to know for sure.

Jordan Staal had a nice goal last night for his first non-empty-netter of the season. Tyler Kennedy also had two goals, as well as a shaving creme covered face after the game:

Looks like the boys are having fun. And you can't tell us that Dan Potash wasn't in on that little stunt.

Sidney Crosby had some nice chances to score, but unfortunately they didn't go in. No points for him last night. Geno had a hand injury after getting hit with a puck. Hopefully it'll be okay, it appeared to be last night after he came back into the game. Petr Sykora had the game-winning shootout goal, which was a nifty one. Overall, good effort coming back for the Pens to beat the Islanders.
