Penguins sign Cooke-y monster?

The Penguins have signed another player to their roster that is to take the place Jarkko Ruutu left behind for Ottawa. Matt Cooke signed a two year deal with the Pens worth $1.2 million a year. He's a big hitter with the ability to agitate opposing teams. You can read about the signing at the PG here and the Trib here.

Bob Smizik thinks the Pens still look solid.

Sean Leahy wants to start a Matt Cooke fan club called the Cooke-y Monsters. He says Pens fans should enjoy Cooke as we did Ruutu. We're sad to see Ruutu go, but excited to see how Cooke works out. Plus we totally love the original Cookie Monster. And cookies. Sounds like a win-win to us.

And on to a little Steelers news, the Trib has an article about a few of the Steelers traveling down to Florida for a little extra training before training camp. You can read it here.

The random YouTube of the day is new Pens' players Eric Godard and Matt Cooke going at it. Enjoy.
